AXIYA is a privately-owned investment company operating in both Singapore and Sri Lanka. We are long-term investors focused on building lasting value by deploying permanent capital into carefully selected public and private market opportunities.
AXIYA began as a private investment partnership, quietly compounding capital over a five-year period. What started as a personal experiment in disciplined investing and intellectual exploration gradually evolved into a more structured entity, reflecting the need to institutionalise both philosophy and practice. Today, AXIYA functions as a fully-fledged investment company—still privately owned, still independent, and still governed by the same values that shaped its origins.
A Philosophy-Driven Firm
Our approach is guided by timeless principles. We seek investments in high-quality businesses with durable competitive advantages, strong returns on capital, and management teams that think like owners. We look for opportunities where the intrinsic value of a business meaningfully exceeds the price paid—backed by a margin of safety.
We do not chase trends or quarterly performance. We think in decades, not quarters. Our capital is patient, and our decision-making is anchored in rationality, integrity, and intellectual honesty. We draw inspiration from firms like Berkshire Hathaway and investors like Warren Buffett and Nick Sleep—but we contextualise their lessons through our own lens, shaped by Eastern and Western philosophies, long-term global shifts, and a deep curiosity about how systems evolve.
Investment Mandate
AXIYA invests primarily in public equities—globally and locally—across a select group of industries and markets. These investments form the core of our compounding engine. In addition, we selectively participate in private market opportunities—where we can act as patient, long-term partners with strategic value to add. We evaluate these on the basis of durability, alignment, and clarity of purpose.
We do not manage outside capital. AXIYA remains a closed, privately-owned entity. Our independence allows us to operate without pressure, to remain focused on long-term outcomes, and to think like owners—not operators of someone else’s money.
Beyond Capital
While investment is our core function, we believe our role extends beyond financial returns. We treat this company as a long-term steward of intellectual, social, and partnership capital. As such, this website is not intended for marketing or investor outreach. It exists to quietly share elements of our thinking—reflections, non-core research, travel notes, and philosophy—that inform our worldview. In time, we hope it will serve not only as a window into our process but as a long-form archive of our journey.
